Run Time Error 3343

When I open a database, a message box appears with the following error: Run
time error 3343, what is this? How can I save my data?

What's the text of the error message? Ah, wait. 3343 - "Unrecognized
database format 'databasename.mdb'" or "This database is in an
unrecognized format. The database may have been created with a later
version of Microsoft Access than the one you are using. Upgrade your
version of Microsoft Access to the current one, then open this
database."
