Run procedure at shutdown

I'd like to automatically run a procedure to backup certain files to an
external disk drive at shutdown.
Currently I must double-click an icon on the screen. Naturally I often
forget. I can run a procedure at startup by putting it in the start menu's
startup folder. How do I do run something at shutdown?

I use SyncBackSE for this and was so impressed that I bought the "pay-for"
version for my wife's office. I also hear good things about the free Cobian
backup program.

Another vote for SyncbackSE. It is will worth the price. I
tested the trial version and bought it 5 minutes later. I
use it to sync document files on two different computers
over a network.

I have the procedure written and running by clicking an icon, but I'd like
the procedure run automatically. Surely it is possible.
GPEdit is not available in XP Home edition.
