Run macro in closed workbook

Afternoon everyone

I have an openworkbook (workbook1 lets say). From that I want to run a macro residing in another workbook (workbook2) which is currently closed. The macro that is to be run requires WB1 to be closed. Before it closes WB1 i would like the user to be prompted to save WB1 first

Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I can open workbook2 from workbook1 but the procedure fails to work although if both WB are open and I run the macro directly from WB2 it closes WB1 and works fine

I'm missing something but for the life of me I cannot see it

Any ideas?? Hopefully I've explained it correctly
