Run Command Dialog: Start->Run doesn't work...

For some unknown reason, the run command in the start window has become a
"nuttin' button". It's there, and it can be clicked - it simply does nothing.
There's no error message, no screen flicker as if it tries to open the dialog
- all it does is return the user to the start menu as if "Run" had not been
clicked at all.

The run command dialog is still available and working just fine from the
keyboard shortcut (WinKey-R). No other problems have been noticed with any
other start menu item.

Apparently, the shortcut has gone wonky or something is moofed in the
registry, but I'll be darned if I can find it.

I appreciate an assist in restoring the functionality to the Run icon in the
start menu, if anyone has any ideas, hints, tips, etc.

As I doubt I've stumped everyone, I tend to believe my message didn't
propagate... Perhaps you have to post through the MSoft site directly?
