Rules should work in Outlook! I switched to Thunderbird because of

I was a corporate user of Office XP and I tried out Outlook 2003 for a while.
My inbox always filled up with spam because the rules don't fire half the
time! I couldn't get any service pack to apply to see if that would fix the
problem, so I just switched to Thunderbird. Rules to me are the absolute
most important feature of an email client, and since they don't work in
Outlook 2k3, that just makes it a useless and broken product. There is no
excuse for that feature to not be working even on a first release of a
product.

Rules work fine for me. You must have done something wrong or have
something peculiar in your setup.

What sort of errors did you get on the install of the Service Pack?
