Rules Not Working

I am unable to uninstall KB952142 or any other update that Outlook 2007
decided that I need. XP Professional tells me that I can repair it, but that
remains to be seen. I the mean time, I have a rule #20 for one folder and
I'm ready to scream.

Does anybody have a real fix that I can use to solve the issue of Microsoft
holding me captive?

Is the problem that the updates won't uninstall or that the rules doesn't
work? Did you try system restore? office diagnostics? What exactly happens
with the rules?

Diane, I did the office diagnostics and I had a lot of errors toward the
end of the program. I couldn't figure out a way to fix them other than to
"repair" Outlook. Can't do because I have a setup error on the disk. It's
buried in Temp Setup files that I can't seem to copy the log :.
"Doc\Laurie\Local\Temp\Setup\Exe\2009051211584.log Can't get there with file
viewing restrictions or I would copy it for you.

I would do a "system restore", but I'm not sure how to do that.

What is happening exactly is that I have an "Amazon" folder and the email
used to go into the folder. not now. They go into new mail or junk mail.
The same thing for all my other folders. Another user suggested uninstalling
the above referenced file as a possible fix and I was unable to do that
either. Control Panel delete software feature throws me out of the system.

1. I'd like to get back my rules.
2. I'd like my Office Pro 2007 disks working again

Is the amazon address on your safe list? Junk runs before rules so if
something is identified as junk it gets put in junk before the rule runs.

Yes, Diane, Amazon is on my Safe list. Since when do I have to tell Outlook
that every piece of email coming in is on my safe list after I've created a
folder for them and made rule for them? This is absurd.

My rules used to work before I downloaded KB952142 . Please send me the fix
for this or allow me the pleasure of re-installing my Outlook Pro 2007
without this file. I need to a working copy of Outlook. I can't be having
multiple copies of my rules and alerts for all 25 folders under my Inbox.
This is getting crazy-- Other people have had the same problem. I'm not
alone with this. I feel like we're going around in circles. I know how to
use the programs. I have had Outlook since 1998.
