Rule to manage email from ppl not on contact list

This must be a no brainer, but I'm having a brain fart and can't figure this
out. I want to create a rule that will move all emails from people who aren't
in my contact list to a specified folder.
I can find how to handle from people in your contact list & in any of your
distribution lists, but damned if I can see an 'exception' that speaks of
those NOT in your contact list.
Help me please! before I bang my head off the wall... again. lol

Then maybe you need to use some revers psychology on the software. I think
this is worth a try:

make a rule to move all incoming email from Contacts to the Inbox
make another rule to move all emails to the other folder

Make them in that order. The second rule should catch the ones you want.

The first rule was easy enough, but when creating then 2nd rule for the
exception (everyone who ISN'T in the contact list) there isn't a way to
'label' if you will, who the exceptions are!
The most logical rule would sound like this - check msgs when they arrive.
If sender is in my contact list, move the msg to the specified folder. If
sender is NOT in the contact list, then move it to the specified folder.
Thanks!
Appreciate any help!

Ok, after some puttering around, I think I got it set up correctly. I made
the rule: check all incoming email and move all to INBOX2 - except any from
people on my contact move them to the INBOX.
We'll see how that flies.
