rstrui.exe error when using System Restore

I had to do a system restore and upon completion I got
this error message.

"Procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not ber
located in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll"

I now can't access the System Restore system. How do I
correct this?

Hi Sam,

First, start/run "sfc /scannow" and allow it to validate the system file
set.

If that doesn't help, you will need to stop, then restart System Restore.
The downside of this is that you will lose all existing restore points when
you do this. The upside is that it usually fixes the problem (and the old
points will not work at this point anyhow). To do this, start/run
services.msc, scroll down to the SR service and double-click it. "Stop" the
service and set the startup type to disabled. Click apply/ok and reboot.
Reverse the steps to restart it.
