My computer has been shutting down and the reason given
is that the Remote Procedure Call Service has been
terminated unexpectedly. If anyone knows how I can fix
this problem, that would be great. Thanks

This is the problem I have and I am pretty sure it is
caused by the blaster worm. Whatever you do, DO NOT
disable your RPC service in Admin Tools - Services. It
totally screws up the system which I am still trying to
recover. To solve your problem, just go to microsoft
support page and read up on the blaster worm problem and
download the patch and worm remover.
