RPC Shutdown

Windows XP Pro..... While working in any program, I
suddenly get a window saying: "The shutdown was initiated
by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM. Windows must now restart because
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated
unexpectedly." As far as I know, I have made no changes
to cause this! Can anyone help me, please?...........
