RPC (Remote Procedure Call) Failure

I am attemtping to reinstall win xp home using a version
that is about 2 years old. I need to do all the updates
but RPC keeps failing. After it fails three times I am
unable to finish the updates (about 50 MG worth) and have
to restart the computer to reset the RPC service. Any
ideals why RPC keeps failing and what can I do to
overcome this?

Hi,

Change the behavior. Start/run services.msc, scroll down to Remote Procedure
Call and double-click it. Go to the Recovery tab. Change the first failure
line to "restart the service".

Hi Janene.


You have the Blaster Worm if you follow the steps on this link you should be
able to remove the worm and patch windows so that you wont get re-infected.

and follow the steps
