Roxio Easy CD Creator 5

J

John W

I am running subject program's disk copy but when it calls for insertion of
"original source disk" and I insert it, disk copy doesn't recognize that it
has been inserted.

I have downloaded and installed the appropriate Easy CD Creator update which
provides support for my drive.

Disk copy used to work and I've uninstalled and reinstalled Easy CD Creator
several times and, since DirectCD would not install cleanly, I did not
include it when installing Easy CD Creator.

I suspect I'm not getting a clean uninstall but don't know what to do to
clean it up.

Direct help or directions to where I might find help would be appreciated.

Thanx.

Besides the drive update, did you install the version 5.3.5
update?

Each time you reinstalled from the CD, you would need to
reinstall the 5.3.5 update.

Suggest you remove EZCD completely with add/remove and then
remove your CD-RW drive with device manager.

Reboot which will reinstall the drive. Then install EXCD
again and immediately run the 5.3.5 update, then you can run
the drive update.

I'm on a laptop. Did what you suggested without deleting the drive
although I tried to and it didn't fix problem. Have done several
uninstall/reinstall's
with no success. Am now trying Roxio Forum.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Screw Easy CD Creator. Roxio demands you register before they'll allow you
to download a patch that supposedly makes it work properly under XP.

I instead told them I returned the software rather than give my name to them
(as they then consider it their information to do with as they please),
exchanging it for Nero (which works finest kind).
