ROW NUMBERS WITH A DASH THROUGH THEM

I have recvd worksheets where the row numbers have dashes through them. What
does this mean?

It sounds like someone was playing with the normal style.

Format|Style|Style Name (choose Normal)
click modify
Uncheck Strike Through
