Row/Column Headers appear from Excel

Hello,

I searched but couldn't find anything but I do apologize if I overlooked
what I should have found. (by the way...I have learned so many things from
you guys so THANK YOU!)

I am pasting a large block of data from Excel to PowerPoint and this has
never happened before, but when I paste as an Enhanced Metafile or Windows
Metafile it also pastes the Row and Column headers. It shows the blocks
A,B,C,D, etc on the top and the row numbers on the side. I've never had this
happen before.

Thanks for your help and I hope I described it properly.

Hm. I can't repro here in PPT and Excel 2003. What version of PPT/Excel are
you using?

How are you selecting the data in Excel, how are you copying it, and how are
you pasting it?

This is crazy. I've been working with MS Office products for over 10 years
and haven't had this happen and I can't reproduce it either.

I did a "work-around" by copying the data that I needed into a new
spreadsheet and then copying and pasting as a metafile and it worked fine.
The only bad thing is that I need to use the original workbook weekly so I do
need to figure out what happened.

The only difference between me and the user is that he's using a MAC and I'm
on a Windows XP machine. I've had complications with documents from him
before however. I'm using Excel 2003, SP1. I copy and paste either by
highlighting the cells and either right clicking to cut/paste or utilizing
the menu buttons at the top of the screen.

I guess I'm just baffled...I've never seen this happen in the 10+ years I've
been using it. It would be nice to figure out what happened...but I'll
probably end up redoing the workbook just to make sure it doesn't keep
happening.

THANKS!
Kerry

Wow, I can't think what might be causing the problem. I thought maybe if you
were clicking the corner "cell" in Excel to select everything, that might be
doing something wonky (although it didn't seem to make a difference here).
Wonder if it's something to do with the Excel conversion from Mac to PC?

Hopefully someone else will pop in with ideas.

Kerry,
Only way you could probably have done this is by doing a screen
capture and pasting that.
