Router behind Router Problem

i purchased a Belking N1 router to use wireless internet around the house on
other computers, i have a Laptop Vista, and 2 XP home edition, all updated
and working fine,

my problem is i always have the modem and internet light flashing, it was
working until i put security password, after i completed that stage, it
started flashing the modem and internet and doesnt work properly..

at one stage it said router behind router, i clicked on resolve restarted
modem but was not fixed..


any suggestions

Many Internet provider give to the client Modems that are actually a
Modem/Router.
Search the Internet for your modem name and model and find out if it is
indeed a Modem Router.
It it is a Modem/Router, then your Belkin has to be configured this way.
Using a Wireless Router as a switch with an Access Point -

I know that the SpeedStream 4200 modem can be set up as a ONE LAN port
router or use the DSL "dial-out" options from the normal router.
