What does 'root' web mean? I seem to vaguely remember
this term when I first learned Frontpage, but for the life
of me, I can't remember now!

I am to save some coding into the root web but not sure
what this means.

root web is the 'home' folder

or for example in the days of DOS C:\ was the 'root' directory -

like the root or trunk of a tree, from which all the branches grow, so the
analogy extends to computer terminology
