That's actually a link to a tutorial. Are you having problems with one of
the steps?

background of the image I wanted to roll over (I assume you know how to do

I presume the author meant something along the lines:

Format | Autoshape, click on "Color" under "Fill", choose Fill Effects |
Picture | Select Picture ...

Well, you do have a "disclaimer" (or sort of: "... intermediate
knowledge of PowerPoint"), so I don't think the article is lacking
anything there.

I must admit: I read it, and I have no clue what you mean with the
"first/second tutorial".

While I (think I) can follow through with the instructions (and yes, I
did read it, not only looked at the pictures ), I probably don't see
what the end result should be: say you animate each picture to fly in
from below? So here I am, clueless due to lack of knowledge both in PPT-
and matters of the English language. :-(
