Sorry, don't mean to be so ignorant. Are you referring to antivirus?
No problem. Most Anti Virus have settings so that they automatically
connect to the Web and download updates, say, every week, every day,
every hour or upon every boot.
It might be that your AV's settings are such that upon every boot it
tries to update itself and causes the slowdown you've noted. I had
this problem with my own AV, where in every boot it would try to
update and slowed the boot. Finally, I went to the settings and
disabled automatic update.
Now I update it every day, and there is no slowdown.
Check your settings, the same might be happening to you.
