Robocopy

Someone had recently posted in either general or new_users that they got
robocopy from the 2003 Resource Kit download. So, presumably it does work on
2000. I certainly cannot imagine a reason why it would not.

I just downloaded it, and tried to run it. It gave me an
error stating I needed win xp or win 2003

Thanks anyway. I will look on my old server for it.

You are saying that the installer, rktools.exe, will not run on 2000, right?
That much seems true. I am able, from a Windows 2000 Server, to execute
robocopy by its UNC on a 2003 Server, no problems. However, it does seem
very different in its default help screen, listing only one switch, but
referring us to Robocopy.doc. It looks like someone has been busy enhancing
it!

If you can find Robocopy from the 2000 Resource Kit, great. Or, if you can
install the 2003 Resource Kit on XP or 2003 Server, that will work. Or,
there are third-party apps a' plenty that will do this, such as xxcopy. Or,
there's ftp.
