rives/folders locked as Read Only

Don't know why, but suddenly C: drive and of course all subfolders have
become locked as Read Only. I can't do anything, except I can create
New>Folders, but cannot rename them, etc.

I thought it was an ownership issue, but I've tried every suggestion I could
find on ownership. Most of them appeared to work, but after they were
finished (and a reboot) the locks were still there.

Can any help me with this W2000K, sp4 problem?

Thanks in advance,
Danno

I'm not so sure that your problem is Read-only, folders are always
marked as Read-only but this is irrelevant, the operating system ignores
the folder's read-only attribute, you would have to look a the files
inside the folders to see if they are in fact read-only.

I think that your problem is a permissions issue, you may have special
permissions in place or you may be missing permissions on the root
folder and quite possibly the other folders are inheriting the (lack of)
permissions from the root folder.

Thanks for the help. I think I can find the permissions menu. I'll try
that next.
