RIS - Updating Recognized NIC's

Have you tried uninstalling the nic settings before you
image the drive? That way it will see the nic as new
hardware in the Compaq.

Have the same problem - and have tried everything under the sun except
for what works!

Query - if you uninstall NIC how are you supposed to connect to RIS
server to run Riprep?

I did not say uninstall the drivers I said uninstall the
nic card itself. When you make the image have the card
uninstalled then reinstall it after the image is made.
article states it this way:

"When a PXE client connects to a RIS server and is running
Client Installation Wizard (CIW), the network adapter is
using Universal Network Device Interface to talk to the
RIS server. When the installation portion begins, Windows
Setup switches to SMB, the network adapter is detected,
and the appropriate driver is loaded."

If you have the drivers for the new Nic in the folder it
should then detect the right one I think.
