Ripped DVD but can't run

I successfully ripped one movie with DVD shrink. It made the correct Audio
and Video directories. If I burn a DVD with these directories the DVD plays
fine. No problems.

Dumb question. I want to watch the movie on my PC. How do I start the movie?

You have to have a program that plays DVD. Then you must have a hardware dvd
player or play it in your dvd burner. DVD's won't play in a cd rom drive or
cd burner. Most newer DVD burners will also play them.

Sorry. I wasn't clear enough. As i said it 's a dumb question.

Of course I have several programs that play DVD movies (Nero showtime etc)
and if i click on any of the VOB files it will play but I don't understand
how to get the ENTIRE movie to start and play on my PC. There about 10 VOB
files in the Video directory.

I do not need to play in my DVD burner. I merely want to run the movie from
the HDD

PowerDVD has the ability to play from a folder. Alternatively, you can
use Media Player Classic - simply open the VIDEO_TS.IFO file. This will
also work with Windows Media Player, though you won't be able to
navigate through chapters with the latter.
