RIP Lou Reed

Lou Reed, a massively influential songwriter and guitarist who helped shape nearly fifty years of rock music, died today on Long Island. The cause of his death has not yet been released, but Reed underwent a liver transplant in May.

I saw that, I couldn't quite believe it. I've always liked his music, my favourite solo work of his is the New York album.

His last released work was a collaboration with Metallica named 'Lulu'. I wonder if that will be his final recorded work? Lulu is heavy going but imo has a charm all it's own.

RIP Lou, you were there with me all my life.

Loved Lou Reeds music which has been a part of my life as I have grown up. Sad to hear he has gone for that last walk on the wild side.
