Does anyone know why things work okay when I save webpages using
the Web Archive, .mht type of save but when I use the "regular"
Complete Web Page-type of save I can get all the text and
pictures *but* the .gifs?

Thanks

The pictures are probably in an other location on the server.

Look at the source code it may give you some clues.

Henri, when you save using the "normal" Web Page, complete, .htm
mode the .jpg and .gif items are stored in a separate little
folder with the _files extension. Once the web page is saved, the
code says to look in that folder for the images.

No problem there except that when the page is looked at again
later, even though the code says to look in the folder, only the
..jpg images will be shown but the .gif images *won't* be. And
there's no reason that I can see to account for this. Everything
is all right, al prim and proper, but it just doesn't work. On the
other hand, the single file method with the .mht extension works
perfectly but the file size is two to three times bigger than the
..htm files.

Very annoying.

I only use Web Page complete on occasions, most of my needs are with .htm,
..html only so cannot relate.

I'm beginning to like the Web Archive type of save, but because
it's second down the list of save options, it takes a few moments
more to find it and select it, and for me, that's a little
irritating. And I still would like to know why IE6 has suddenly
developed this problem so I could either prevent it in the future
or know what to do about fixing it. Things shouldn't work right
one day and the next they aren't working inexplicably.
