Right Clicking Misbehavior

Once in a while a strange occurence happens when I right-click an icon on my
desktop: I get the icon's property box! If I log off & relog on, everything's
back to normal. I have NIS 2007 installed & a tight security set-up, so I'm
fairly certain that it's not Sub Seven or the likes.
I've seen this problem several times over the past few years (with different
mice) & wiping the HD & reinstalling eveything makes no difference. My OS
(WXP Professional), however, has been the same one.
Anyone have any ideas?

Why are you rightclicking the desktop icon? If you want to activate the app
you doubleclick the icon. You rightclick to access its properties or you can
also click Open, Copy, Delete, Rename, Run As, Send to, etc.???
What are you trying to do?

Joe,
Please excuse the blank reply. here is my reply:
The normal behaviour when you right-click on a desktop icon is the display
of a menu giving you various choices with "Properties" normally being the
last option and which can be selected by pressing the "r" key while that
option list is displayed.

My apologies, all. I meant the problem occurs when I left-click (Folder
Options configured for single-click) the icon. Let me close this thread &
start a correctly worded one.
