Right-click won't bring up folder properties

When I right-click on a file in Win2k's Windows Explorer and then click on
Properties, I get the normal properties screen. But if I right-click on a
folder or drive and then click on Properties, nothing happens.

Can anyone suggest why this happens? It started only recently, perhaps after
an update to Windows or after reinstalling Adaptec DirectCD.
