When ever I right click the mouse (or pop up menu key) on a file or folder in
My Documents (haven't tried on desktop) no shortcut/pop-up menu appears, the
computer seems to hang (I don't think it hangs, just a long long long delay,
so long I don't let it finish, well over 5 minutes I would say). However, I
can right click the taskbar and get the task manager to stop processing of
the My Documents screen (have to do it several times before it actually
stops, I would say 5+ times). I've run spyware, antivirus, uninstalled
programs not using and did a check disk scan. Still doesn't stop the issue.
I did work with msconfig and did trial by error testing and found that this
only happens due to the DHCP Client Service that is loaded at windows
initialization. When I don't have the DHCP Client checked in msconfig when
rebooting I do get the shortcut menu to pop up when right clicking (solves
the issue, but then have no internet access with DSL) when it is checked,
with reboot, the issue returns (but I get DSL internet access). So i think I
have it narrowed down. Any suggestions on how to fix? Anyone else have this
issue?
Hopefully I explained the issue so it isn't too confusing.
Please Help.
Thanks,
Mark
