For unknown reason my right arrow key now starts adding a /n to my word
document when I use it or brings down a drop-down menu.

Do you know how to disable this? It is very irritating.

You didn't mention whether it is a laptop or desktop. Try replacing the
keyboard on either one. If it's a laptop you should be able to plug in
another keyboard.

It is a laptop that unfortunately I use on my lap. Adding an external
keyboard would be unworkable.

You may have keyboard diagnostics from the manufacturer. Just plug in an
external keyboard to find out if the laptop keyboard is defective.

The point of attaching a known-working USB keyboard is not to suggest that
you compute this way forever but to aid in troubleshooting. Attaching the
external keyboard will determine whether your laptop's keyboard is faulty
or if there is a software issue.

So please attach a USB keyboard, test it with your Word documents, and
report back with the results.
