Ricoh color laser printer wants RGB or CMYK input?

Just bought a Ricoh CLl7200 color laser printer. Nice.

The Ricoh docs are not clear on this point, and their tech support did
not answer a query I sent them... but does the Ricoh 7200 prefer to get
documents sent to it in the form of RGB or CMYK? I am running a lot of
tests to determine the best combination of color spaces to use in my
Adobe apps; but it would be nice to know if this CMYK printer wants to
get CMYK data, or if it's one of those printers that actually prefers
RGB but then processes it.

Thanks for the help.

I expect it prefers CMYK to be sent to it, does it use a Fiery (EFI)
board to control it? I _think_ that if you send it RGB it will print in
only three colours rather than four.

Maybe you could ask them the same question about the AP3800c, which is
the pre-cursor to your machine.

How do you find the output? I've seen output from AP3800c, which I
thought looked a bit dull, but that could have been because the people
using it don't know what they're doing!

It might be worth asking at thecopiernetwork.com or
theprinternetwork.com (the copier one is more active) where you will
find a few service engineers who seem to know their stuff.

If you get a detailed test page, one that shows C, M, Y, K outputs and a
composite CMY version of black, what happens if you send it as CMYK vs
RGB?
