Revision tool bar buttons to accept or reject are greyed out

I am trying to edit a document with some track changes and the accept/reject
changes buttons are greyed out on the toolbar. I've checked the document to
make sure it is not read-only or password protected and it's not (at least
not that I can tell under Tools==> Security Any idea why these functions are
blocked?

Sometimes, you have to actually SELECT the text to get these to "wake up"...

Thanks Cindy, that did the trick. I never even thought to try that. In fact
I tried just about everything BUT that.
