Review cycle won't let me accept changes

Using Word 2002, after getting a document back from the review cycle, Word won't let me accept, reject, or do anything with the changes or comments. The icons aren't greyed out, they just don't do anything.
Thanks for your help

Hi =?Utf-8?B?TWFyeSBDPg==?=,

Is Track Changes turned on, or off? I've occasionally been able to "nudge" Word into allowing me to accept/reject changes by changing this setting.

Word won't let me turn tracking off. I think perhaps Word thinks I am a person on the review cycle instead of the initiator.

Did you protect the document for track changes, then? Have you tried Tools/Unprotect document?
