reverting to factory install programs

Since reverting to factory install applications, I have
had many problems. Windows Update does not install
updates though it says it did. The computer randomly
shuts down with 1 minute warning. Whenever I use "Run" it
stays shuts down after about 10 seconds, so I cannot make
changes to msconfig or rededit, etc. I don't know what
else information to give to you.

run a full virus scan just in case.
