Dan

Hi, I'm trying to install windows 2000 on my laptop
because windows xp is so slow. I currently have windows
xp running and when i put in the windows 2000 disc, an
error message says, "This cd-rom is from an older version
of windows than the one you are presently using. Setup
functionality from this disc will be disabled." And i am
unable to install windows 2000. Can anyone please tell
me how to install windows 2000 on an xp machine? Thanks,
dan

yes, each file will make you one floppy disk. you need all 4 to start the
Windows 2000 setup.

If you have a bootable CD you can put it in and restart
your laptop. You might have to reconfigure the startup
settings so that the laptop knows to boot from the Cd.
You will have to do a clean install though, so make sure
to back up you data.
