Reversing clip in Windows Moviemaker

Greetings:

Is there a way to have a clip play in reverse in windows movie-maker?
I can't seem to find that effect....but I'm not that farmilar with the
software.

Basically, what I want to do is have a clip play forward at normal
speed, then show a small portion of it rewinding and then playing
forward at reduced speed, and then continue on at normal speed.

If this cannot be done in Windows Movie-maker, can anyone recommend a
good freeware desktop editor that would have the ability to create
this form of effect?

Thanx!!

Googled 'movie maker reverse' and first hit pointed me to
http://www.rehanfx.org/tips.htm#Reverse_Video
where I read:

"Reverse Video

Since Movie Maker cannot do reverse video, one has to consider
alternative ways to do this effect. PapaJohn has explained a method to
do reverse a video clip by extracting out all frames and then joining
them in reverse order.

However I use a much simpler method to do this using VirtualDub and
Avisynth. It works with AVI files only which are either non-compressed
or compressed using frame by frame compression such as MJPEG....
[etc]"

My website page has 4 methods of doing it... and shows my current favorite
way is to use Xander's Video Time Reversal app.

http://www.xander.free.fr/info/Time_Reversal/

It's in French... and there's a translation of the instructions to use it on
my site.
