reverse lookup zone

win2k servers, w2k pro desktops ... should my workstations automatically
populate the reverse lookup zone in AD integrated dns?

there are many subnets across the wan and several of them are filled
with their workstations pointers which havent been entered manually ...
although all dns is configured the same and workstations are set to
register connection in dns so not sure why several of the subnets dont
appear to have these created as the others have ..

all dns servers are set to secure updates

So all the reverse zones set to allow update? You mention your DNS servers
are set to secure updates. Actually you don't set a server to allow updates,
but rather each of the individual zones. If the zones were created properly,
then the client will automatically (or DHCP) register into the reverse.

all dns servers are set to secure updates

Secure updates require that the machines need permission in the ACL to
register in DNS, either by machine name or group membership.
