Reverse DNS does not replicate to Secondary DNS server

Is the reverse DNS supposed to automatically replicate
itself to a secondary DNS server, as mine isn't. Is there
any particular settings that need to be set in order to do
this?

Thanks

The secondary is supposed to automatically request and
do a Zone transfer.

You need to creat the secondary zone on another server
and reference this reverse zone.

You do know that reverse zones have no inherent relationship
to any forward zone, right?

Get into the MMC and look at the properties for one of the reverse zones in
question. Check out the Zone Transfers tab and make sure everything looks
in order. The primary should notify the secondaries when the serial number
has been incremented. That could be another problem if you're manually
changing the files instead of going through the MMC. The serial number
always has to be incremented.

Other than that, you should check your event log for warnings/errors.

The secondary reverse lookup zone should have the IP
address of the primary reverse look up zone as the
master. Right click on the secondary reverse lookup zone
and choose Replicate from Master (can't remember the exact
wording but it is the first choice.) If you cannot
replicate then you have a mismatch in the way you created
you secondary reverse lookup zone.

If the manual replication from the master works then it
should continue to work on it's own.

I have seen problems with the pointer records for the DNS
servers having incorrect IP addresses, i.e. both DC1 and
DC2 pointer records had the IP address of DC1.
