If you accidentally sent it to Recycle and emptied it, software
recovery software can recover it if you haven't done anything (or
much) with the computer since then.
The one I have says to run it off the distribution disk the first time
you need it (if you haven't had the forethought to install it before
you needed it!) so as not to risk losing the sectors the file is
written on.
(Emptying your recycle just severs the filepath, it doesn't actually
remove the file from your drive -- that might happen over the months
as you happen to reuse the sectors it occupies.)
But if you worked on something and didn't save it before you closed
Word, even though Word asked if you wanted to save it, there's nothing
you can do.
