Retrieving file

I was in word and used my excel file to merge some addresses when i saved the
document in work i mistakenly save the excel file to word also. Is there
anyway to get the excel file back into excel.
 
From a backup version????

You may be able to reopen the file in MSWord and save some of the data by
copy|pasting into a new excel workbook????
