When I "opened" an Excel file out of Outlook, I never
saved it to a local directory. When I did save it, it
was saved in a folder (OLK5) under "Temporary Internet
Files". Now I can't access the file out of OLK5. Anyone
know how do do this?

My other thought was to go to "File" and open it from the
list of latest used files. Unfortunately I've opened
more than 4 files and it's no longer listed. Does anyone
know how to show more than the last 4 files viewed?

First, you can up that most recently used limit to 9 under:
tools|options|general tab.

Some versions of excel have a history button on the file|open dialog.

Maybe it still appears on the windows start button|documents list?

And windows|find (or Search) maybe be able to find it. Look for .xls updated in
the last x days. Search in hidden folders, too.

and finally:
Windows start button|Run
WinFile (old windows 3.x file manager)

the names of the files are short (8.3), but if you're really desparate, you
should be able to traverse your way through the maze.

My temporary internet files were under:
c:\windows\tempor~1\content.ie5\(what looked like random characters)

(I used win98.)

But doesn't Outlook sometimes clean these files up?

Hope you're lucky!
