Hi,

Probably this is answered elsewhere. Unfortunately could not find it.

Here I go -

One of our users was working on a long Excel document. And by mistake
she closed the file without saving it.

My query is - is it possible to retreive this document somehow? Pl
help!

I doubt it. If it is Excel XP or 2003 then you could look under
Tools>Options...>Save and note the AutoRecover save location. Now go to
that location and if there is a file there, then open it in Excel. (It will
not have an Excel location and some random name) and that should be the
file. You may have lost a few minutes work, but that's all.

It's a long shot though, as you must be aware.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your response.

I already checked that yesterday. Surprisingly I could not find any
file there. Any way the user decided to redo the work once again.

Again, thanks for your help!

I think that if excel is exited and Excel has determined there is no
'unusual' activity, it deletes the temp file. The trick is when you realise
to not close Excel...I think!
