When a user has a networked drive, lets say its name is "H", and they delete
a file in it that has never been backed up, it there a way to retreive it? I
know in Novell, you can right click the folder and have the option to purge,
retreive, etc (My novell is not great so forgive me if it isn't exactly how
you do it). There a way to do it in Windows 2000 advanced server or just
server? It doesn't show up in teh recycle bin on the server either. Thanks

Files deleted over the network do not go to any recycle bin. It's pretty
much the same as using shift delete to delete local files and bypass the
recycle bin.

W2k doesn't have 'Salvage' or 'Shadow copy' features. Just google something
like 'data recovery network share' and you get a lot of useful links.
