Retain date when copying a folder?

When XP SP2 Windows Explorer copies a file from one device
to another, or one folder to another, the modification date
is retained. But when a folder is copied the date is changed
to today. Is there a way to copy folders and retain the
source-folder date-modified for the target folder?

After a little bit experiments, I found that copying and pasting a folder to
new location create a new folder therefor a new date and time stamped is
created. However, I use Backup from System Tools and find it useful. I backup
some folders from C drive and later I restore them to another location and
found that the Date and Time stamp was the same as the original one.

Hope this information may useful to you, let us know!
