Result of a formula in another cell

Although I'm suspecting this cannot be done, generally, Excel surprises me
with neat tricks and tools. So, that's why I'm asking, since I haven't found
a way . . .

I have a value in a cell. In the next column, I have an If/then formula to
check the first cell's value.

Is there a way to change the value of the first cell with the formula in the
second cell? (Fail that, I'll use VBA.)

Thanks for any info.

Rich

Nope, not unless the first one has an if then that checks the other column,
circular reference style. So no, not really.

Thanks John . . .

Just after I posted the question, I thought of that too. It would be
recursive.

Thanks again . . .
