hi there ............... i want to know whther there is any restrictions in
excel for filteration ...??

because i have an data of around 12000 lines and if i filter it, it is
applying filter upto row no. 5136 .......... 5137 and onwards rows are not
filtered (even though i have selected all the 12000 rows while appling
filter......... why ??

in xl2003 and below, you'll only see 1000 unique entries in the list under the
dropdown arrow.

But if you're really not filtering all the rows, I'd remove the filter and
select all the range and then reapply the filter.

I'm guessing that even though you say you're selecting all the rows, I don't
think you are.

Autofilter's drop-down will only show up to 1000 values in the list. You can
use Advanced filter as an alternative...

Please go to Help > Microsoft Escel Help and type advanced filter for more
details. this will give you much more information than would be typed here.
