Restriction error using I. Explorer 6.0.2800

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with a little bit of trouble
I've been having w/Internet Explorer recently. Basically, whenever I
go to Tools > Internet Options it won't allow me in as it comes out
with the error message:

'Restrictions: This operation has been cancelled due to a restrictions
effect on this computer. Please contact admin.'

I'm logged in as the main user obviously with admin level rights on
everything else, but for some reason it's suddenly stopped letting me
change the Internet settings.

What's stranger is the fact that I can access these settings if I go
via Control Panel > Internet instead. Although this way it's a little
different e.g. the use blank/default/etc homepage bit at the top is
*completely* greyed out - no homepage can be set at all.

The only things I've done one the computer recently are a Spybot
Search & Destroy clean up, but that only removes cookies & etc - which
I have restored anyway just incase. Other than that, I've tried to get
Nero working properly by re-installing it once or twice.

Could anyone shed any light on this for me please? Or alternatively,
could someone point me towards the latest download of IE 6, and not an
update/patch - the full version perhaps? I think reinstalling the
whole of Internet Explorer would help, but of course you can never
find the whole thing - just patches.

Hi,
First, open Spybot in Advanced mode and check the Immunize settings. You may
have placed this restriction inadvertently.

If not ... go to Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:

"Various Registry Fixes"

Next (same page) check for parasites and other malware which may have caused
this, if Spybot didn't.
