restrict text from filling page

hello,

how can i format or restrict the way the text is displayed. when i upload my
page the text fills the complete browser window from left to right. i would
like it to display with some neat margins and not go all the way from left to
right.
 
Put it into a table. You can specify the table to fill X percent of the
browser, or be X pixels wide.
