restrict cell content display

Hi All,

If I have a cell content (text) longer than column width, Excel displays the
whole string across the column's right border provided that the adjacent cell
is blank.

Is there a method to restrict displaying cell content between cell borders
other than putting something (eg. spaces) in the adjacent blank cell?

Thanks,
Stefi

You could format the cell to wrap text (Format | Cells | Alignment tab
then click Wrap text), though to see it all the row height will need
to be adjusted, which you might not want. You could also use Shrink to
Fit, but again this might not be the effect you want.

Hope this helps.

You guessed well, both solutions have unwanted side-effects, I have to fiddle
with the adjacent blank cells content. Thanks anyway!
