Restoring the system

I neglected to create a recovery CD when I first
purchased my computer. Since then I have moved and I am
unable to restore my system to its original state.

The oem is required to give you a means to put the computer back to "factory
condition". You do not create a recovery disk(per say - sure you can make
one for backup purposes). Call the oem and find out how to proceed.
Or if you have a retail version of xp that you bought, just
install/reinstall it.
