Restoring Task defaults

At onetime there was a blank line for continious data
entry. For some reason it will not restore, it only saves
the new data and the blank entry point is lost. How can I
restore the blank line entry point.

I'm not sure I follow the question... but did you try resetting the view?
Find Define Views and rest the view you use. Depending on your version it's
at Views, Arrange By, Customize... define views.

If you mean the new task line, it's in the customize view settings, other
settings button.
