Hello
I use Veritas Backup exec 10d. I conmsider situation when my servers
will be totaly destroyed.
I know that I able to recover system and all data with IDR whan new
server will be exacly like old one. But can I use IDR to restore
system/data using different server I mean with different configuraton
from different producer ?

Thanks in advance

That is not a question of your backup product, but of the system
you are trying to restore. For example my experience with restoring
a Linux system to different hardware is pretty good. Never took
long to get it to work again. With Windows, I have experienced
everything from minor issues to desaster level problems
(i.e. reinstallation was the only option). You will typically
need to at least reconfigure some things. Your backup software
cannot do that.

The best way to find out is to try with the different hardware.
Additional benefit is that you get to test your backup as
well.
